The friendly ghosts

Casper's baseball team is called the Ghosts.  Yep, just like the friendly ghost.

Since we moved to Casper two summers ago now, I've wanted to check out one of their games.  I've imagined perfect summer nights drinking a beer, eating a hotdog, listening to the crack of the bat, and cheering with other diehard small town fans for their hometown boys.

The old song by Alabama, The Cheap Seats, pops into my head every...single...time I think of going to a Ghosts game.

On Thursday, Todd scored free tickets from some coworkers!  We met up for beers and burgers then headed out for an all-American night on the town.

Ok, so it wasn't the most well attended event, but the crowd that was there was very passionate about their team!  It's also an awesome field.  A nice facility...

Here they are on the field!  They played the Ogden (Utah) Raptors...

What I don't quite get is our mascot.  Why is he a purple platypus...?

Go Ghosts...!

It was the second to last game of the season and unfortunately the Raptors took 'em.

Next year, Ghosts!

A puckin' good time

Last year, I went to a UW hockey game and it was one of the funnest $5 I'd spent.

This year's season has already kicked off and I've been hankering to go again. So, Todd, his friend Rebecca, and I went to the UW v. Fresno State game last night and had just as much fun!

Squaring off...

Action on the ice...

Last nail-biting seconds of the game...

UW wins! Go POKES!

Good game, good game...

Winning salute...

Puckin' around...

Last night Brandon and I went to UW's last home hockey game in Cheyenne. It's a club sport and they sometimes play at the Taco John's Event Center here.

I had never been to one of their games and have been really wanting to do that this year. The place was packed! We couldn't believe how many people were there for the game.

It was fun too - even though we lost to Air Force 5-3. There were fights, of course, and Air Force's coach even got kicked out of the game!

It was a great, cheap way to spend a night and I will definitely be going a lot more next year!

It's open seating and Brandon and I scored front row seats. Usually seats on the glass are super expensive, but here you could just go stand right by it...

Start of the game...

Warm-up...

Our boys!
