From my phone - batch two

I've got so many photos on my phone!

It's time to clean some of them off and share a few more.

Get a load of the Wyoming sky a few months back.  Something was definitely moving in that day...

My girlfriends gave me these cute little sticky I Dos for the bottom of my wedding shoes...

I went into our bathroom to find this mosquito hanging weirdly over our sink.  It's like The Matrix!  Or that scene from Mission Impossible where Tom Cruise is hanging over the security beams...

Todd's Aunt Barbara painted a picture of Rigby that she and her daughters gave us for a wedding gift!  We had Riggs sit next to his painting and pose...

All of us out in the field (looks like literally) with Todd a few weekends back as he was working. Lulu and I were waiting in the the pickup cab as Todd talked to a rancher/hunter. Lulu is fascinated by cows.  We wonder if she thinks they're big dogs...

Our t.v. - until Black Friday...

Our new t.v. - thanks to Black Friday and Mike and Beth who braved the crowds and picked us up one while they were out!  A new, fancy shmancy flat screen t.v. has been on the wish list for a while, but it's been pretty low on that list.  Other priorities (wedding, house renovations, etc.) have taken precedent.  We couldn't beat the deal Mike found, so we caved.  Enormous? No. Functional and nice and...flat?  Yes.

The writing's...in the flowers?

Todd and I took the dogs up to Casper Mountain last weekend to get them out - and wear them out.

At Bear Trap Meadow there's a loop we like to do that's easy and fun for the dogs to run around.

We stopped for a bit for me to take some photos of all the pretty meadow flowers.  When I finished I realized Todd had been staring at a little bunch of flowers off the path.

He said, rather casually, "You know, if a person looked at 'em just right...you could imagine them spelling out 'I love you.'" (As in "I ♥ U")

I gasped!

"You're right!  Holy crap!!

And this is what we were looking at...

This is a 100 percent undoctored, unplucked, untouched in any way photo of those flowers.

I bet you're saying holy crap now too!

Explain it how you like, but my take is two-fold: Todd is truly the person I'm supposed to be with; and God was telling us he loved us.

There is no other way, in my mind, flowers growing like that can be explained.

Fur trade

While doing some window shopping on a recent trip to Jackson, Wyo., I stumbled upon this interesting item:

A fur jockstrap.

Huh.

It was in the window of a normal enough looking store - not some Jackson version of an adult store - right on the town square.

I sent the photo to Todd telling him I had found his Christmas present.  I'd only get the one with no tail.  A fur jockstrap with a tail is just odd...

Good morning!

Look at the AMAZING sunrise this morning!

I just don't feel like the photos do it justice...

Got milk?

I went to the Zonta antiques show this morning to see what else the couple we're buying the house from would have out, and to just look around because it's a pretty good show.

There wasn't much there I couldn't live without, except some SUPER cool glass and metal bridle conchos with Western pictures painted on them that I want to get a few sets of for drawer pulls.

Then there was this: It just cracked me up! If I didn't already have an old wooden milk box (that I use to keep onions in) I would totally get this.

Stacey - it says Owen's Dairy on the side.

Wyoming Gothic

This weekend I'll be participating in HOBY, or the Hugh O'Brien Youth leadership camp for high school students.

My office runs the Wyoming program and somehow I went from casual volunteer to pretty much running the show.

My title is Big Mama, something I'm not sure what I think of. There's also a Big Daddy, who is my friend Brandon.

We had to have our picture taken for the program and this is what we decided on...

It cracks me up!!

Do not enter?

Today's Tribune Eagle got haphazardly thrown on the floor between mine and Matt's office and our boss's office.

Not exactly the most welcoming message would you say? This says nothing about what it's really like to visit Matt and I...

Hodge podge

No real theme to today's post. Just some random thoughts and observations...

Random thought:

I wanted to do something to keep track of all the visitors I've had since settling in to my Cheyenne home. I didn't want to keep a formal "guest book" because that just seems weird and stuffy. I decided on cowboy boots instead. Any time out-of-town visitors come through I have them sign a boot, and when they're all filled up I'll use them as bookends! Nifty, huh?

The problem was, I concocted this idea after I'd already had several visitors - mostly from D.C. I sent the boot back with Elly, who was in the state a while back for work, with the important goal of getting it signed. She presented the boot to me when she was in Wyoming a couple months ago.

I LOVE it!!!

Random thought/observation:

I love, love this truck. I really want an old truck. I always have. And a Jeep Wrangler. Those are the two vehicles I want to someday own. There are several old trucks around here, but I passed this one downtown on my way back from coffee at City News and was impressed by its beautiful condition. I wish I had it in me to be a car thief. Of course I'm not. But at times like this I wish I could be...

Random observation:

Due to some annoying, ongoing construction on the street RIGHT in front of our office many of us don't have access to our parking lot. Instead we have to park in the garage a couple blocks away. I know...who ever complains about free garage parking?? But the construction blocks our direct route from the garage to the office, forcing us to walk completely out of the way.

The route takes us in front of the Wrangler cowboy clothing store. Today, I looked up at the building and for the first time ever noticed this...

Um...creepy!

Milk and cookies

I didn't see this until I got the jug home.

It cracks me up every time I open the fridge.

Aside from the obvious cookies and milk pairing...why is it on there??

haha. Or, I mean, hee hee!

Nowhere

A random funny picture I forgot to include in my On the Road Omaha post...I think this was in North Platte, Neb., where I stopped for gas.
Haha...

Jacka-what?

A giant jackalope on top of a taxidermy business in Cheyenne...

I guess this means they must be real!

Random Pic

So random.

On the bar door of the Cowboy in Laramie.

I guess I should do as the sign says and ask the bartender about "what this means."
